Service Overview
A video doorbell provides a convenient way to monitor the threshold of a property. Installation requires careful attention to existing wiring, mounting surfaces, and network connectivity to ensure the device operates as intended by the manufacturer.
Installation Scope
- Evaluating existing doorbell wiring for voltage compatibility (for wired models).
- Mounting the backplate securely to door frames, brick, or siding.
- Attaching and securing the doorbell unit.
- Configuring the device with the local residential Wi-Fi network.
- Testing the mechanical chime connection (if applicable) and alert notifications.
Placement and Setup
The unit must be placed at an appropriate height to capture faces and packages clearly. Wedge kits may be used to angle the camera away from walls or adjust the vertical view. Setup involves basic pairing with the manufacturer's mobile application to confirm functionality.
Important Considerations
Before proceeding, it is important to confirm that the Wi-Fi signal reaches the exterior door with sufficient strength. Older homes may lack the proper transformer voltage required for modern wired video doorbells, which may necessitate battery-operated alternatives or electrical updates outside our standard service scope.
